Confidence building
A positive learning experience that develops ability & confidence
Fluency in maths is a great foundation for doing well in primary maths and beyond. Maths fluency enables learners to handle higher order skills such as multi-step problem solving with ease - and it builds confidence.
The summer maths challenge is an opportunity to develop maths fluency at home. On this page you can redeem your school voucher code to start a maths practice programme appropriate for your child's past school year. It's entirely free, all you need is a tablet, laptop or smartphone and an internet connection.
Our strength is making learning maths at home effective, enjoyable and rewarding. We do this in a way that engages parents, motivates children and doesn't keep children at the screen for long periods. Since our launch in 2015 we have taught maths to over 10,000 children and we're proud to have won the BETT Award for best home learning resource.
‘This great site complements classroom learning with an interactive, user-friendly interface for both parents and children to use at home. Most importantly, it presents mathematical concepts clearly, in an engaging manner with many opportunities for practice’. The BETT Award Judges.
Komodo has many ways to keep learners motivated, but we've added two special new features for the summer maths challenge. Inside the app and online, learners and parents will be able to track their progress via the practice tracker. There will also be a cool printable certificate for all "triple scoopers" who complete the challenge.
A positive learning experience that develops ability & confidence
We've created a cool interactive challenge tracker chart so your children can see how they're getting on
Designed for short regular use. 10-15 minutes, 3 to 5 times per week.
It's not a game, but kids enjoy using it.
Your encouragement and involvement makes the all difference. We’ve made this easy.
Self-paced practice that complements classroom learning.
Across age, gender and culture. No clutter, no competition scoreboards.
Your child will be proud of their summer maths challenge certificate.
Yes, it's absolutely free.
You can cancel your summer learning challenge in the account section of our website.
Officially it begins on 1st July and ends on 7th September but you can start as soon as you get your code from the school.
When you sign up we ask you for the child's school year. This is used to assign relevant practice based on the UK National Curriculum.
Please sign up for two children then drop us a message or email with the names and past school year for the others.
If your child struggles with maths or has a learning difficulty we will do our best to amend their maths practice programme to suit their needs. Please send us a message or email and we'll take it from there.
Please don't share the voucher code as it is unique to your school and only available through a participating school.
The Komodo app works on most devices - iPads, iPhones, android tablets and smartphones, and Kindle Fire tablets as well as windows and mac computers. It also requires an internet connection.
You can track your child's progress in the Komodo app and through your special summer learning tracking chart - we'll email you the link to this later.
Yes. We'll give you the option to continue with a paid subscription after the challenge is over on 7th September.
Komodo has many ways to motivate learners including a parent-led reward system and cool family messaging system. However, good old-fashioned encouragement always works too!
Usually when parents sign up for a paid subscription to Komodo one of our maths teachers assigns a personalised learning plan for their child based on a diagnostic test and other information parents provide.
We are unable to provide this level of teacher-personalisation in the summer maths challenge as it is free to participating schools and families. Instead maths practice is based on the past school year of each learner.
If you have a question that we haven't covered please don't hesitate to get in touch though our contact page. Please mention the "summer maths challenge" so we can better advise you.
