Content Marketer / Editor

Location: Belfast, Full-time & part-time considered

Komodo Learning Ltd uses cutting edge digital content marketing to promote and grow its business. As an all-digital business, we endeavour to use the most effective methods and tools to improve our business. This is an ideal opportunity for a talented content marketer /editor to develop their expertise in an exciting startup company in an emerging field.

The role is to manage our “content pipeline” for our inbound digital marketing. This involves writing, commissioning and editing a variety of blog articles and other marketing content to promote across social channels and our blog. The post requires using a balance of creative, writing and organisational skills. 

The role includes:

  • Running the content marketing pipeline from idea to publishing
  • Working with the curriculum team and marketing team to schedule a calendar of content
  • Create compelling original content that gets attention and is helpful and informative
  • Writing content - blog articles, Facebook posts, landing pages, website copy, press releases
  • Commissioning, editing and proofreading content from remote authors and team members
  • Present a consistent voice / writing style in line with our brand and communicate this to authors
  • Research and analysis to identify opportunities and measure performance

Essential Skills and Qualities:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, along with the ability to empathise and engage with our target customers.
  • Have a balance of creative and analytical skills - to create interesting, useful content, monitor campaign performance and act accordingly
  • Be self-motivated, adaptable and inquisitive, and excited about the challenge growing Komodo’s worldwide subscription base
  • The ability to tackle new situations and challenges with ingenuity and independence

Digital Marketing Assistant

Location: Belfast, Full-time & part-time considered

Working in a small team you’ll be exposed to many aspects of the business - which makes this is an ideal opportunity for a talented marketer to develop their expertise in an emerging field.

The role is primarily to support the Digital Marketing Manager, but you’ll experience many aspects of the business including marketing strategy and measurement of performance. This is a creative, roll-up-your-sleeves and do it job, so you’ll be on the front line of creating and implementing innovative marketing campaigns.

The role includes:

  • Scheduling of content for various social channels
  • Analysing and Reporting Effectiveness of Campaigns
  • A variety of research general marketing activities to support the marketing team
  • Search Engine Competitor Analysis

Essential Skills and Qualities:

2D Animator/Illustrator

Location: Belfast, Full-time

Komodo helps children develop fluency and confidence in maths and it does this by providing personalised practice that fits into busy home/family life.

We are growing our subscriber base both in the UK and internationally and we’re winner of the prestigious 2017 British Educational Technology ( BETT) Award.

We have an opening for an animator/illustrator who can design and develop animation videos for our educational and marketing needs. The nature of the work requires a mix of illustration and animation skills.

As a digital company we endeavour to use the most effective methods and tools to improve our business. We're always seeking to push the creative boundary of our work to make beautiful compelling animation that gets attention. This is an ideal opportunity for a talented animator/illustrator to develop their expertise in an exciting digital media company. You can check out some of our animation on our site and blog.

The role includes:

  • Animating compelling short animation videos for educational instruction and marketing (to a brief prepared by the team)
  • Creative input into the storyboard
  • Design and edit sound and recorded voice-over for animation
  • Edit video for output to Vimeo and other platforms
  • Design and prepare original vector art illustration that complements the company’s style and branding
  • Design and edit images

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to a high standard across both moving image and sound
  • 3rd level / HE qualification in animation or a related field
  • Proficient in designing 2D animation in Adobe Animate CC
  • Proficient in vector art illustration with Adobe Illustrator
  • Proficient in editing video in Adobe Premiere
  • Able to use photoshop to edit/adapt images
  • Able to use sound editing software and have an ear for sound quality
  • The ability to tackle new situations and challenges with ingenuity and independence
  • A keen eye for detail and quality

The role includes:

  • Assigning personalised learning plans in maths for learners using our online system
  • A degree of working flexibility to provide this service at weekend and in the evening ( to accommodate international customers )
  • Customer support - reviewing learning plans and responding to enquiries

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified teacher
  • Experience teaching maths, primary or secondary
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, along with the ability to empathise and engage with our target customers

Maths Curriculum Writer / Designer

The maths curriculum writer will play an important role in designing interactive content and instructional animation videos. The position requires knowledge and experience in primary mathematics teaching, creative flair and an ability to expressing ideas in writing and interactive formats. The position involves creating written content such as blog articles to support our marketing campaigns.

As we’re a startup company you’ll be involved in many aspects of the business. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-do-it job, so you’ll be on the front line of enhancing our service and growing our company.

The role includes:

  • Reviewing the existing curriculum, identifying areas for improvement
  • Creating new interactive maths learning content from idea to release
  • Storyboarding animated instructional videos to explain maths concepts to primary aged children
  • Articulating designs to the development team
  • Creating compelling maths curriculum marketing content such as blog articles in conjunction with the marketing team
  • Customer support - reviewing learning plans and responding to enquiries
  • Research and analyse curriculum requirements (UK and International)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, along with the ability to empathise and engage with our target customers.
  • Qualified teacher (primary or secondary maths)
  • Experience producing mathematics educational materials
  • Experience teaching mathematics, ideally at primary level
  • A balance of creative, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • The ability to tackle new situations and challenges with ingenuity and independence
  • In depth knowledge of the UK primary maths curriculum
  • Be tech savvy - know how to use a variety of online software tools such as excel, google docs, twitter
  • Be great at maths and enjoy it!

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in Edtech
  • Appreciation of user experience in a digital Edtech context
  • Awareness of how efficacy is measured in education
  • Knowledge of International maths curricula (USA, Australia)
  • Skill in data analysis, programming or database SQL
  • An entrepreneurial and creative mindset - who can contribute across our business
