Komodo Kickstart is a short quiz for children that gives parents immediate feedback on how well their child knows and understands number bonds through measuring their fluency and accuracy. Kickstart is completely free to use.
Split into two quizzes, as a guide Number Bonds to 10 is for Kindergarten and 1st Graders and Number Bonds to 20 for 1st and 2nd Graders, you can choose to do just one or both.

What to expect

Once your child starts the quiz, they will be asked to answer a series of addition and subtraction questions. We’ve worked hard to ensure children have a positive experience, with lots of encouragement and fun graphics throughout.

When your child has finished, we’ll compile and email you the feedback as a private report.

Where appropriate, we’ll make a few suggestions as to how you can help your child improve their knowledge of number bonds.

We’ll respect your privacy, and you can opt out any anytime.
Why Number Bonds?
Mastering number bonds is an essential foundation for later concepts and skills in math.
But what does “mastering” mean? Being able to work out number bonds correctly is a start, but this isn’t mastering. Mastering means being able to use number bonds accurately and fluently - that’s rapidly without having to work out the answer
The great news is that once you’ve mastered your number bonds it will stay with you for life!

Along the way, we’ll introduce you to our maths product and may email a few articles which we believe you’ll find helpful.

My kids aren't keen on numeracy as a rule, but Komodo is the exception. My 7 year old daughter Eve, and my 5 year old son Connell both use Komodo, and it has improved their confidence with mathematics noticeably. There is healthy competition between them to earn more Komodo stars, so they see Komodo as a game, not as "homework". Because of this, it is never any trouble to get them to use Komodo.
